Princess Mary appeared to make a subtle statement showcasing her love for her husband during a recent outing in the wake of shocking affair allegations.
Crown Prince Frederik’s fidelity has been called into question after Spanish magazine Lecturas printed pictures of the heir to the Danish throne attending a Pablo Picasso exhibition with a Mexican socialite in Madrid.
Pictures also showed Frederik and Genoveva Casanova, a divorced actor, out and about in the city on October 25. Ms Casanova has flatly denied any suggestion of an affair and has indicated she may take legal action.
In the wake of the rumours, Princess Mary made a public appearance with her husband at the Joaquín Sorolla exhibition – ‘Light in Motion’ (Luz en Movimiento), and a dinner at the Glyptoteket Museum in Copenhagen on Wednesday during the King and Queen of Spain’s state visit.
Among the royal’s ensemble was an18-carat gold petite letter necklace with the initial ‘F’ from Halberstadt, which could be in reference to her husband.
Meanwhile, Lecturas has now printed further details of Frederik and Ms Casanova’s meeting.
According to the publication, following their visit to the Pablo Picasso exhibition at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum the pair walked around El Retiro Park in the city.
The magazine then claims that Frederik and Ms Casanova both went to her apartment building separately.
They then remerged two hours later, again separately, before both getting into the same white car.
Both had changed into evening wear.
They then drove to Spanish restaurant El Corral de la Moreria where they watched flamenco dancers. The performance didn’t finish until 12 and Frederik and Ms Casanova stayed until 1am.
When they left the restaurant, a car approached and Frederik opened the car door for Ms Casanova before getting in himself.
The next day Frederik travelled by car to the airport and flew home to Denmark.
The royal couple have not commented publicly on the articles but Ms Casanova has “flatly denied” all accusations regarding an alleged affair.
“I flatly deny the statements that suggest a romantic relationship between Prince Frederick and me,” the model told Spanish magazine Hola!
“Any statement of this type is not only completely untrue but also distorts the facts in a malicious manner.”
