Kate Middleton describes Windsor walkabout with Harry and Meghan as the ‘hardest thing’

Kate has described walking with husband William alongside Harry and Meghan as the ‘hardest’ thing she’s had to do, as a new book explains the moment that infuriated Harry.

An upcoming book claims Kate Middleton described the Windsor walkabout she undertook with and husband William alongside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after Queen Elizabeth II’s death was the “hardest” thing she’s had to do.

In his soon-to-be-published book, Our King, veteran royal correspondent Robert Jobson claims the Princess of Wales revealed that her unease was the result of “ill feeling” between the couples.

In an excerpt obtained by the Daily Mail, Jobson writes: “Catherine later admitted to a senior royal that, such was the ill feeling between the two couples, the joint walkabout was one of the hardest things she’d ever had to do.”

Looking back at the images of the former “Fab Four” on September 10, 2022, the strain on Catherine’s face is evident.

While the two couples appeared united as they walked out of Windsor Castle to acknowledge the British people who lined the street, Jobson reports it was an “illusion” craftily acted out by the siblings and their wives.

At the time, body language experts remarked that Meghan displayed an “inner anxiety” facing the public and the cameras walking with husband Harry alongside Catherine and William.

“Meghan looked like a woman waiting for her cues rather than pushing herself forward,” Judi James said.

James added that Ms Markle’s “frequent hair flicking” during the walkabout “suggested some inner anxiety.”

A second expert remarked that the Archewell co-founder appeared to be racked with “fear” as she had been booed during the Platinum Jubilee.

“There is no question that she was in fear, as she hung on to Harry’s hand for dear life as they walked together,” Dr. Lillian Glass explained.

“She was serious and even stood back when Harry was speaking to someone. Usually, she is front and centre, but the fact that she hung back was very telling of her fear.”

Whether founded or not, Meghan’s fears over being accepted not only by her extended royal family but the British public have possibly been fuelled by her husband’s own take on the matter.

Jobson writes that Pirnce Harry was hurt when he didn’t receive the response he had hoped for when he revealed to his father he intended to marry the US actor.

His hurt turned to anger and Prince Harry was ‘infuriated’, Jobson adds, when King Charles told him he could not keep paying for Meghan.

Despite the bad blood, the Sussexes and Buckingham Palace are reportedly finalising plans for them to attend King Charles’ coronation in May.

“There have been lengthy discussions between the Sussexes and the palace, there is a time crunch on this, of course,” an insider shared.

“It’s such a historical event and it’s hoped that Harry and Meghan will be there.”
