Justin Baldon’s lawyer has sent a legal letter to Disney demanding the company keep any documents that mention him, it has been reported.
The letter, sent on January 7 to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Disney chief executive Bob Iger, is demanding the documents be retained so Baldoni can prove Ryan Reynolds mocked him through his “Deadpool & Wolverine” character Nicepool, according to People.
In the letter, Baldoni’s legal team have reportedly asked for “any and all documents relating to the development of the Nicepool character” and “communications relating to the development, writing and filming of storylines and scenes featuring Nicepool for potential use in court.
The “It Ends With Us” star’s team is specifically interested in correspondence “relating to or reflecting a deliberate attempt to mock, harass, ridicule, intimidate or bully Baldoni, 40, through the character of Nicepool”, according to People.
The legal letter was sent the same day Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, slammed a viral deleted scene from the 2024-released “Deadpool & Wolverine”, which he said was an “obvious” dig at his client, reports Page Six.
In the scene, Nicepool wears his hair in man bun — a hairstyle that Baldoni wore for years — and refers to Ladypool, played by Blake Lively.
“Oh my goodness, wait til you’ve seen Ladypool,” he raved. “She is gorgeous. She just had a baby too, and [you] can’t even tell.”
Lively gave birth to her and Reynolds’ fourth child in February 2023 — shortly before she started filming “It Ends With Us”.
In Lively’s December 31 sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni, the 37-year-old claimed he made several comments about her post-partum weight throughout production.
During the scene Freedman took issue with, Nicepool said he identified “as a feminist” and planned “to one day start a podcast that monetises the women’s movement”.
Baldoni, who identifies as a feminist, has a podcast called “Man Enough Podcast”, which explores gender roles and what it means to be a man today.
The “Jane the Virgin” alum has not directly sued Lively or Reynolds, 48, but earlier this month Freedman revealed the actor planned to take legal action against her.
