Jodie Foster isn’t a big fan of Generation Z.

The Oscar winner admitted that working with young actors is sometimes frustrating.

“They’re really annoying, especially in the workplace,” the 61-year-old jokingly told The Guardian in an interview published Saturday, as per Page Six.

“They’re like, ‘Nah, I’m not feeling it today, I’m gonna come in at 10:30am.’ Or in emails, I’ll tell them, ‘This is all grammatically incorrect, did you not check your spelling?’ And they’re like, ‘Why would I do that, isn’t that kind of limiting?’”

Foster, who is familiar with Gen Z because she has two sons in their 20s, believes she can help young people in the industry.

“They need to learn how to relax, how to not think about it so much, how to come up with something that’s theirs,” she said.

“I can help them find that, which is so much more fun than being, with all the pressure behind it, the protagonist of the story.”

The star of HBO’s upcoming True Detective: Night Country – which airs locally on BINGE – further said she does “a lot of reaching out to young actresses” because she “had a hard time growing up” and doesn’t want them to have the same experience.

Unfortunately, not everyone loved what she said during the interview.

Immediately after Foster jokingly shaded Gen Z, the Silence of the Lambs actress faced backlash on social media for her “rude” comments.

Others, however, supported her statements, with one person writing, “She’s not wrong.”

“This is why I love Jodie Foster,” another said, while a third added, “Same, Jodie.. same.”

After making the shady comments, Foster praised Gen Z celebrity Bella Ramsey, calling the 20-year-old Last Of Us star an example of an actor emerging in a new “vector of authenticity.”

Foster said they first met at Elle’s Women in Hollywood celebration.

She said a lot of the attendees were “wearing heels and eyelashes,” but “there are other ways of being a woman, and it’s really important for people to see that. And Bella, who gave the best speech, was wearing the most perfect suit, beautifully tailored, and a middle parting and no makeup.”

The Flightplan star said she would have not been able to dress like Ramsey — who is non-binary — in a suit and no makeup at a big Hollywood event.

“Because we didn’t have freedom. And hopefully, that’s what the vector of authenticity that’s happening offers — the possibility of real freedom,” she said.

“We had other things that were good. And I would say: I did the best I could for my generation. I was very busy understanding where I fitted in and where I wanted to be in terms of feminism. But my lens wasn’t wide enough. I lived in an incredibly segregated world.”

The actress, who is now married to photographer Alexandra Hedison, shares her sons with ex Cydney Bernard.
