Jessica Simpson shares Ashton Kutcher’s one-word response to finding out she was a virgin
Jessica Simpson has revealed her former That ‘70s Show co-star’s one-word reaction to finding out she was saving sex for marriage.
Jessica Simpson will “never forget” Ashton Kutcher’s one-word response to her virginity reveal.
The singer told Entertainment Tonight over the weekend that upon finding out she was a virgin at age 22, the actor immediately asked, “Why?”
At the time, Simpson replied, “Because I haven’t met my husband yet.”
The fashion designer, 45, met Kutcher, 47, on the That ’70s Show set in 2002 to play Annette, his character Michael Kelso’s love interest, reports Page Six.
Simpson called herself “very innocent” during those days, explaining, “I [wasn’t] thinking about other people and their sex lives at all.
“I’ve always been open,” she quipped. “Legs crossed, but open.”
The Newlyweds star’s character had a similar conversation onscreen — and Kutcher responded differently.
“What?” his character blurted out, before recovering and saying, “A coincidence. Me too.”
Simpson burst out laughing watching the clip on Saturday, as well as a throwback interview she did about the guest role.
“I was just shooting a scene with Ashton — Michael — and I was telling him that we couldn’t do it because I was a virgin,” Simpson said at the time.
Kutcher’s rep has yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The former reality star was vocal about abstaining from sex before marrying ex-husband Nick Lachey in October 2002.
“My virginity is something I stand strong in,” she told People two years ahead of their Texas wedding.
“It’s not always easy,” Simpson continued in the 2000 interview. “But I do respect it. Virginity can be cool and sexy.”
She and Lachey called it quits in 2005, with the Dukes of Hazzard star moving on with Eric Johnson.
Simpson and the ex-NFL player divorced earlier this year and now co-parent three children — daughter Maxwell, 13, son Ace, 12, and daughter Birdie, 6.
