Taylor Swift “needs space” from Blake Lively after her name was dragged into the ongoing lawsuits between the Gossip Girl alum and her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.
The pop superstar “is taking a break from their friendship right now,” a source exclusively tells Page Six.
“Taylor is really hurt by this whole situation and feels like a pawn.”
According to the insider, the Grammy winner, 35, “is keeping her distance” from Lively, 37, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 48.
“Taylor wants nothing to do with this whole ordeal,” our source tells Page Six. “She has always been a loyal friend to Blake and doesn’t appreciate being thrown into this at all.”
The twosome’s friendship dates back to 2015 after Lively shared a photo from a L’Oreal campaign, which referenced Swift’s Bad Blood music video. It caught Swift’s attention, and the pair began spending time together.
Reps for Swift, Lively and Reynolds did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
It was previously reported the songstress “can’t help but feel used” by the actress.
An insider explained, “Taylor doesn’t appreciate being referred to as one of Blake’s dragons” after Lively’s alleged texts were revealed in the countersuit filed by Baldoni, 41, last month.
The alleged texts don’t specify who Lively’s “dragons” are, but it’s believed by many that the actress was referencing Reynolds — and the Fortnight singer.
The countersuit filed by Baldoni included texts sent from the director to Lively which referenced an alleged meeting at her New York penthouse where Baldoni claims “two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world” tried to “pressure him” into complying with Lively’s rewriting of the key rooftop scene in It Ends With Us.
After the meeting, Baldoni “felt obliged” to text Lively. His alleged text stated, “I really love what you did. It really does help a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor).”
Meanwhile, Reynolds and Lively made their first red carpet appearance on Sunday since the Gossip Girl star filed her sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni.
A source told Page Six that Hollywood insiders feel the couples’ attendance at the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary special “was not a good look” and they believe the pair “should have sat this one out.”
A second insider said Lively “was initially hesitant to attend the anniversary show but ultimately she’s glad she went and had a really nice time.”
“Blake and Ryan have no regrets about making an appearance and they’re glad they showed up because they have nothing to hide and no reason not to.”
Lively and Swift haven’t been seen out together in several months, with Swift not taking the actress to the Super Bowl, as she did last year, earlier this month.
