Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have reportedly called it quits, months after split rumours began circulating about the celeb couple.
The US pop star, 25, and her Irish actor boyfriend, 32, who were first linked in December last year, are taking a break from their high-profile relationship, per People.
“They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break,” an insider told the outlet.
Representatives for the pair did not respond to requests for comment.
While they enjoyed a relatively private union, the couple did make their debut, and only, red carpet appearance together at the Met Gala in May.
The Saltburn star also famously starred in the music video for Carpenter’s hit song Please, Please, Please in June.
Keoghan had also been spotted several times at Carpenter’s concerts, including her blockbuster set at Coachella in April.
In August, reports emerged the couple had split after Carpenter became tired of Keoghan’s partying ways.
“Barry acts like an idiot when he is drunk and Sabrina was getting increasingly frustrated,” a source told The Sun at the time.
“He has always been a party animal and Sabrina was fed up with his antics.”
But Keoghan appeared to squash the reports hours later by celebrating the release of Carpenter’s album Short n’ Sweet, in which he revealed his favourite song from the album and referred to his girlfriend as “darlin’”.
“Bed Chem (is) my fav just sayin m’darlin @sabrinacarpenter,” he wrote on Instagram.
While the duo have rarely commented about each other in interviews, Carpenter told Variety earlier this year Keoghan “loved” her song Please, Please, Please, in which she sang about not wanting to be let down by her boyfriend.
“He loved the song. He’s obsessed with the lyrics, and I’m so grateful for that,” Carpenter said.
“I don’t want to sound biased, but I think he’s one of the best actors of this generation. So getting to see him on the screen with my song as the soundtrack made the video better and all the more special.”
Keoghan, who shares a two-year-old son with ex-girlfriend Alyson Sandro, became flustered when asked about his romance with the pop star during an appearance on the The Louis Theroux Podcast in November.
“All I’m going to say is I’m incredibly blessed. [Sabrina is] such a strong, independent lady who’s massively talented. And, yeah. Pretty special,” Keoghan offered.
