Oscar winner Natalie Portman finalises divorce from husband, Benjamin Millepied
Natalie Portman and French choreographer Benjamin Millepied have officially divorced after he allegedly cheated on her with a climate activist.

Natalie Portman has finalised her divorce with estranged husband, Benjamin Millepied.
The Oscar winner and her estranged husband separated last year and have already finalised their divorce, her representative confirmed to People magazine.
According to a report in the New York Post, Portman filed last July and the divorce was finalised last month in France, where the former couple live with their children, son Aleph, 12, and daughter Amalia, 7.
The news comes a year after rumours surfaced that Millepied had an affair with climate activist Camille Étienne, who was 25 at the time.
“It was short-lived and it is over,” a source told People in June 2023. They remained together at the time despite his “enormous mistake.”
Amid the scandal, Millepied was “doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together” while Portman’s “biggest priority” was “protecting her children and their privacy.”
The situation, however, wasn’t easy for the actress.
“It was initially really tough for her, but her friends rallied around her and helped get her through the worst of it,” a friend of the couple told the outlet.
“Natalie is coming out of a really tough and painful year but she’s come out the other side of it stronger and is finding joy in her family, friends and work.”
The friend added: “Natalie hoped her marriage would be forever, but she is at peace with where they are and now focused on their new normal as a family.”
The star hasn’t been spotted wearing her wedding ring since last spring.
“Her biggest priority has been ensuring a smooth transition for her children,” the insider went on. “She and Ben really love their kids and are equally focused on being the best co-parents they can be. Nothing is more important.”
Portman was recently asked about rumours surrounding her marriage in a profile for Vanity Fair’s Annual Hollywood Issue.

“It’s terrible, and I have no desire to contribute to it,” she bluntly told the publication.
The exes have stayed busy as they’ve navigated their split. Portman made public rounds for her Netflix film May December and is currently shooting the Guy Ritchie-directed Fountain of Youth.
Millepied, meanwhile, was the choreographer on the blockbuster Dune: Part Two.
Portman and the director/choreographer met on set of the 2010 movie Black Swan. She’d go on to win Best Actress at the Oscars for her role.
The pair celebrated their 10-year anniversary in August 2022. “Ten years today @benjaminmillepied, and it keeps getting better …” Portman captioned an Instagram post to celebrate.
Her social media activity was strikingly different, however, just days before their divorce was publicly confirmed.
“Excited to finally read Nora Ephron’s Heartburn, her classic transformation of pain into humorous art. Looking forward to hearing what you all think! #MarchBookPick @natsbookclub,” she captioned an Instagram photo of herself with the autobiographical novel on March 1.
The book is a fictionalised account of the end of Ephron’s disintegrating marriage to Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein.
