Kim’s rare comments on Kanye divorce: ‘Can’t live with it’

With her ex making headlines for his latest vile stunt, Kim Kardashian has provided rare insight into why they got divorced.

Kim Kardashian alluded to the reason for her divorce from Kanye West in Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians.

The reality star made a rare comment about the “hardest part” of ending marriages as she sat down with her mum, Kris Jenner, and sister Khloe Kardashian to discuss the Good American co-founder’s recent reunion with her ex-husband, Lamar Odom.

While admitting they “got married way too quickly,” Khloé stood by her decision at the time, saying, “That was the love of my life. And if it wasn’t for drugs, I know we would still be married ’til today”.

“I know I picked the right person at that time.

“None of us knew he was on drugs until it was at least a year in. That’s what was so terrifying.”

Khloé, 40, wed Odom, 45, in 2009 before filing for divorce in 2013 over his cheating and drug addiction. However, the case was not finalised until 2016 after the former basketball player recovered from a near-fatal overdose.

Kim, 44, told her younger sister, “That’s the hardest part,” seemingly thinking about her 2022 divorce from West, reports The New York Post’s Page Six.

“I’ve been there when you don’t foresee something happening that really changes a person’s personality and then they’re not the same person and you can’t ever get that person back, but you can’t live with the new person. I get it.”

The Skims founder added in a confessional, “It’s tougher when you don’t want your marriage to end off of personal reasons but circumstances change that force your marriage to end”.

“When you weren’t planning on that and that’s not really the outcome you want but there’s no other option, I think it makes it harder to get over.”

Since filing for divorce from West, 47, in 2021 after seven years of marriage, Kim has stayed relatively mum about the demise of their relationship.

The billionaire beauty mogul — who shares four children with the rapper — called it quits after West made controversial comments about slavery, abortion and vaccines following his bipolar diagnosis.

At the time, West also had been running for president of the United States when he suddenly turned on the Kardashian family. During a rally, he revealed that he and Kim had considered aborting their first child, North, who was born in 2013.

He also claimed “momager” Jenner, 69, was trying to “lock him up” and that he wanted to leave Kim.

By 2021, Kim beat him to the punch and filed to dissolve their marriage, requesting joint physical and legal custody of their children.

A year later, the Kardashians star was declared single after telling a Los Angeles court, “I very much desire to be divorced”.

“I have asked Kanye to keep our divorce private, but he has not done so.

“Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private family matters and co-parenting on social media which has created emotional distress.

“While I wish our marriage would have succeeded, I have come to the realisation that there is no way to repair our marriage.

“Kanye does not agree but at least it appears that he has come to the realisation that I want to end our marriage, even if he does not.”

Since then, Kim has declared herself a “single mum” as West has made Italy and Japan his home base after marrying Bianca Censori in 2022.

Most recently, Page Six exclusively revealed that Kim was making an effort to stay away from West following his latest antisemitic rant on X last week.

“Kim hasn’t read all the messages Kanye posted because it’s not worth her time and energy,” the insider said, adding that she “wants nothing to do with this drama”.

According to our source, Kim “hasn’t reached out to Kanye at all”.
