Ioan Gruffudd’s ex-wife Alice Evans can’t ‘financially support’ kids, will apply for welfare

A Marvel star’s ex is allegedly on the brink of going broke as she applies for food stamps and welfare.

Alice Evans is pleading with the Los Angeles Superior Court to order her ex-husband, Fantastic Four star Ioan Gruffudd, to pay her child support and spousal support as she’s allegedly on the brink of going broke.

“While I am struggling to put food on the table for our children, Ioan is jet setting around the world,” the British-American actress, 55, alleges in court documents filed Monday and obtained by Page Six.

Evans then cites posts on her ex’s Instagram profile that showed the Marvel star had been to the UK, Rome, Spain, and Seattle as evidence of his lavish lifestyle.

She adds in the docs, “Based upon stories in the media, Ioan purchased an expensive engagement ring for his fiancée and they recently purchased new Rolex watches.”

Evans then claims she has “very little money coming in each month,” noting that she only makes about $US300 a month in royalties from acting projects she’s done.

“I have drained all of my personal savings paying my prior attorneys in this case and paying for my expenses,” the 102 Dalmations actress says.

Ioan Gruffudd is now in a relationship with Bianca Wallace.

The couple are currently holidaying in Italy.

“I have some personal property, such as vintage designer items, held in storage, that I could possibly sell, but they are in danger of being sold at auction because I cannot pay the monthly storage fee.”

Evans further claims that she is “behind on rent and utility payments.”

Page Six also obtained a copy of her declaration, which shows an electric bill for $US3,000 that is “past due,” a storage bill for $US1,000 that was last paid on March 2024 and an outstanding credit card for $US1,100.

Evans also writes in that document, “Due to my age and lack of recent work as an actress, it is hard to find roles. My income for 2024 consists of cameos and royalties.”

Evans says she has struggled financially since her split from the actor.

In the child support request, theactress — who shares daughters Ella, 14, and Elsie, 10, with Gruffudd, 50 — claims “friends have started dropping off groceries and food” so she and the kids can eat.

Evans adds that she plans to seek government assistance, adding, “I will be applying for food stamps and welfare.”

The mother of two repeatedly maintained that she has a right to financial help from her ex because she has 100 per cent custody of their two girls.

In February 2022, she filed for sole custody, but Gruffudd has accused her of trying to paint him as the bad guy to their daughters and the public.

The Titanic actor previously claimed in a court petition, “Alice threatened to tell people I had abused her and our daughters.

“[She] threatened to call the police on me if I did not comply with her demands … threatened to tell people I am a drug addict and put me in prison … threatened to write a fake diary that reflected an abused victim, and to have the diary published; and … threatened to destroy my mother.”

In June 2023, the exes’ oldest daughter filed a restraining order against her dad and accused his fiancée of “slamming a door on her head.”

Evans’ lawyers argue in the new docs that she is “unable to be taken seriously for roles that require her to travel for long periods of time, as many acting roles do” because of Gruffudd’s public claims about her.

“I have been making efforts to get back into the industry,” the actress points out.

“For example, I am currently booking paid fan conventions for various different roles I have played in the past. I am not earning much now, but I am hopeful that with some hard work and the right opportunity, I can start financially supporting the children.”

Per the court docs, Gruffudd agreed to pay Evans $US3,000 a month in child support and $7,000 per month as an advance of spousal support until they went to trial from December 2023 to April 30, 2024.

However, the trial was reportedly delayed because one of the lawyers fell ill and, as a result, Evans has not gotten anymore payments from her ex for the months of May and June.

“I cannot wait months for a trial to receive child support and spousal support,” she argues.

Evans also claims her premarital agreement with Gruffudd is unjust because it allegedly states she will receive less money from her ex following their divorce than if they didn’t have children together.

“This provision punishes me for having children, which I contend offends the public policy of the State of California that both parents are to contribute to the financial support of the children, especially in this case where I now have 100 per cent custody of the children,” she says.

“Ioan has the ability to pay spousal support based upon his greater ability to earn income and his ongoing lavish lifestyle,” Evans’ lawyers claims, pointing out that Gruffudd recently had a role in Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

“For these reasons, Alice requests guideline child and spousal support,” the lawyers conclude.

Page Six has reached out to Gruffudd’s lawyer for comment but did not immediately hear back.
