Matthew McConaughey shares rare photo of Camila Alves look-alike daughter Vida on 14th birthday

The 14-year-old daughter of an Oscar-winning actor has popped up on social media in honour of her birthday – and she looks exactly like her mum.

Matthew McConaughey’s genes didn’t stand a chance.

The Oscar-winning actor marked his daughter Vida’s 14th birthday by sharing a pair of sweet photos of the teen on social media in which she strikingly resembles her mum, Camila Alves.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the Dallas Buyers Club actor posted two images of Vida spending some time with nature.

“To Vida, who never passed a flower she didn’t pick, Happy Birthday,” McConaughey, 54, captioned the images, reports Page Six.

The father of three then explained why his post came a day after her actual birthday, which took place on January 3.

“A day late because my mobile device flew out of my pocket on the roller coaster loop at her birthday yesterday!” he added.

McConaughey, who also shares sons Levi, 15, and Livingston, 11, with Alves, celebrated Vida’s special day with a fun-filled trip to theme park Six Flags in San Antonio, Texas, on Wednesday.

Vida’s birthday comes just days after her brother Livingston celebrated his 11th birthday on December 28.

Proud dad McConaughey rushed to social media to mark the special occasion, writing, “Double one’s, we love watching you grow.”

“Thanks for puttin [sic] so many smiles on our faces. Love, Papa,” the actor captioned a picture of Livingston smiling while sitting on his dad’s lap.

McConaughey and Alves have kept their children relatively out of the spotlight over the years.

In July 2023, however, McConaughey and Alves introduced their eldest son to their social media followers on Levi’s 15th birthday.

“Happy birthday Levi Alves McConaughey,” his father said in a joint Instagram post with Alves.

“Can you believe it?” she said, turning to her husband. “Fifteen years young,” he answered, adding “Hey, buddy, your mum is a little nervous today. One of the gifts we’re giving you, yes, we are allowing you today to join the social media universe.”

The Gentlemen star revealed the couple had been discussing when they would give their blessing for him to get an account since he was 12 years old.

McConaughey and Alves tied the knot in June 2012 after dating for six years.
