Angelina Jolie’s dad publicly slams actress over Palestine remarks

Hollywood actor Jon Voight took to social media to share his ‘disappointment’ in his daughter.

Voight has hit out at Jolie on social media.

Angelina Jolie’s father has publicly slammed the actress over her views regarding the Israel/Palestine conflict.

The actress said in a recent post that while “what happened in Israel is an act of terror,” it “cannot justify the innocent lives lost in bombing a civilian population in Gaza.”

She later added that Gaza was “fast becoming a mass grave” as a result of Israel’s air strikes and that “the world watches” as “millions of Palestinian civilians – children, women, families – are being collectively punished.”

Following her condemning of the recent air strike on a refugee camp, Jolie’s father, actor Jon Voight, has taken to social media to share his “disappointment” over his daughter’s posts in support of Palestine.

Sitting in front of an American flag, Voight said in a video: “I am very disappointed that my daughter, like so many, has no understanding of God’s honour, God’s truths.”

“This is about destroying the history of God’s land — the Holy Land — the land of the Jews. This is justice for God’s children of the holy land,” he continued. “The Israeli army must protect thy soil, thy people. This is war. It’s not going to be what the left thinks, it can’t be civil now.”

He continued: “Ask God: ‘am I learning the truth? Or am I being lied to and I do like everyone else?’, because friends, those who understand the truth see the lie. They see that Israel was attacked, and these animals want to wipe out the Jews, Christianity.”

Voight’s political views are vastly different to those of his daughter, who has been a long time advocate for peace and human rights activist.

The actor, who has been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and the Republican Party, went on to dismiss Jolie’s suggest that Palestinians have been “neglected,” and claimed that the country “been given huge infusions of money, that they didn’t share with the people. They made weapons instead.”

Voight went on to end his rant by urging those watching to “recognise that Hamas is destroying their own people, not Israel.”

The actor has never been shy about sharing his polarising political viewers.

Back in 2020, he sparked backlash after comparing US President Joe Biden to “Satan”.

At the time he appeared to suggest the election had been “stolen”, saying: “We must not allow this, we must fight this corruption that has taken over and fight for the good that seems lost. Let us give our trust to God and fight now for Trump’s victory because we all know this ballot count is corruption like they are.”
