Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Heming, has slammed reports that the star’s ex-wife Demi Moore had moved in with the couple following his dementia diagnosis.
“Let’s nip this one in the bud. This is so dumb. Please stop,” Heming wrote on Instagram, while posting the headline, “Demi Moore ‘Moved In’ With Ex Bruce Willis & His Wife To Help Care For Him After Heartbreaking Dementia Diagnosis: Source.”
Willis has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), his family announced last month, which is a disorder that can affect behaviour, personality, language and movement.
Earlier, Heming posted a short video on Instagram, saying that she had heard claims she was using Willis’ diagnosis to get her “five minutes” of fame.
Heming said that accusation was “great because it means that you’re listening” and said she would turn it into 10 minutes to “advocate for my husband” and raise awareness about FTD.
“And, while I’m at it, I’m going to raise awareness around FTD and for caregivers, who are unsung heroes out there. And then, and then, I am going to turn my grief and my anger and my sadness and do something good around something that feels less than. So, watch this space, because I didn’t come to play.”
Heming also pleaded with paparazzi who had harassed Willis recently while he was on a rare coffee shop outing with friends to give the star space.
“I know this is your job, but maybe just keep your space,” she said.
“Please don’t be yelling at my husband, asking how he’s doing, whatever. The woo-hooing and the yippee-ki-yays — just don’t do it. Give him the space. Allow for our family or whoever’s with him that day to be able to get him from Point A to Point B safely. That’s my PSA.”
MOORE HELPING WILLIS AS HEALTH FAILS
US reports this week said Moore had reportedly moved in with Willis and his family as the Die Hard star battles a dementia diagnosis.
Radar reported that Moore had moved in with Willis in a bid to help lessen the load on the star’s wife, Emma Heming, and the couple’s two young daughters.
“Demi has moved in, and she is not leaving until the very end,” a source reportedly told Radar.
Famously, Willis spent time living with Moore and their adult children in Idaho at the height of the pandemic.
“At first no one outside the family could understand what Demi was doing living with her ex and his new wife, but now it makes sense,” the source told Radar.
“Demi has been a rock for the family and is determined to make sure every day Bruce has left on earth will be filled with love.”
Moore and Heming are reportedly teaming up to care for Willis in the wake of his devastating diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia.
A representative for Moore has claimed that she was not committed to living with Willis and Heming full-time, but another source claimed that the actress had “never left” her Covid pod with her ex-husband’s family.
It has been previously reported that Willis was “determined to stay coherent and lucid for as long as possible” in the hopes of being cognisant enough to meet his first granddaughter from his eldest daughter, Rumer, who is expecting a child in late December.
It has been a year since Willis’ family announced the actor would be retiring from acting after he was diagnosed with aphasia. Last month, his family said the illness had progressed to frontotemporal dementia.
