Brownlow veteran Tania Buckley has opened up about her infamous g-string dress almost 20 years on.
Buckley, wife of Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley, said the pressure and scrutiny was immense after that now-iconic Brownlow outing in 2001.
“I wouldn’t wish it on anybody,” Buckley told Confidential about the night she wore the jewel-encrusted underwear.
“It was something we did and didn’t think was that full on. It was just a bit of fun but it dragged on for so many years.
“It’s all the judgmental individuals out there and media. The majority of girls coming tonight are just here supporting their partners.”
Nathan backed his wife’s sentiments: “It’s how it’s perceived, when you’re younger you care.
“We’ve already been asked twice about it tonight.”
Tania said she felt comfortable on the red carpet in her Jason Grech gown and Hearts on Fire diamonds.
“It’s the first time I have felt comfortable wearing something,” she said.
“It is (a lot of pressure) and the only reason it is is because people pick the s--- out of it.

“I just come to support my husband and it’s fun, but it’s for him — not me.”
The couple, who have two children, first stepped out at the Brownlow together in 1999. Buckley was joint winner of the Medal in 2003.
The Magpies coach spent the day yesterday preparing for player interviews, with the group to get together for drinks on Wednesday.
