Jimmy Bartel is asked an unusual question on Brownlow night.

AFL stars were stumped on Brownlow night by the toughest interviewers in the game.

Two Auskickers took the Channel 7 microphone and hit footy’s biggest names with questions they weren’t prepped for during their media training.

“Can I borrow your beard to get in?” one asked Cats star Jimmy Bartel, while Adelaide captain Taylor Walker was quizzed if anyone calls him Tay Tay.

Interviewing 208cm Demon Max Gawn presented its challenges but Port Adelaide chairman David Koch dodged the question when asked why the Power didn’t make the finals, giving his interviewer a hug instead.

The Auskick kids were a bit hit in Channel 7’s coverage, but the choice of musical entertainment didn’t go down so well.

Alex Lloyd appeared live on stage to perform his 2001 hit Amazing during a segment honouring this year’s retiring players.

But the slow version wasn’t a hit with fans.
