After nearly a year at the top of the charts, Brisbane’s most listened to radio station has been dethroned while a refugee breakfast trio continue to bring home the bacon at their new home.
Brisbane’s B105 took out the title of All People 10+ ratings winner with 13.3 points, followed by long time top spot holder Nova on 13.1 points.
Triple M was close behind on 12 points, KIIS 97.3 on 10.8 points, and 4BC rounding out the top five stations on 8.6 points.
But while B105 overtook Nova in terms of total listeners across the day, Nova managed to retain the breakfast slot with 14.1 points compared with B105’s 13.6 points.
The radio survey data, released on Tuesday, also showed 4BC’s Laurel, Gary, and Mark growing their breakfast slot by 1.7 points, second only in terms of growth in the timeslot to fellow AM station 4BH.
4BC’s 11.8 breakfast share also marked the stations best breakfast performance in 14 years.
“It’s a great day at 4BC as we’ve recorded incredible results across our live and local slate of programming, including our highest ever audience of 283,000 listeners,” 4BC Content Manager, Max Dudley said.
Both 4BC and 4BH made significant changes to their breakfast timeslot line-up earlier this year when 4KQ was purchased by the Sports Entertainment Network (SEN), which saw the breakfast trio find a new home on 4BC and the classic hits playlist shift to 4BH, a move clearly paying dividends.
4BH’s 4 point growth was the largest across the board growth of any station, while 4BC’s breakfast slot increased by 0.7.
4BC’s previous breakfast host, Neil Breen, was shifted to the Drive position to make way for the three 4KQ stars, and also grew his timeslot by 0.9 points, again, second only to 4BH’s growth.
But despite the impressive progress, the drive timeslot remains dominated by the FM band, with Nova number one, B105 number two, Triple M number three, and KIIS 97.3 at number four.
