A series of colourful, luminescent arches marks the entry to Brisbane’s new home of independent theatre in West End – and it’s opened its doors just in time for the city’s flagship festival.

Rainbow Circles (Healing Circles), a series of bright luminescent arches on The Common at West Village in West End, form a vibrant entry point to the new Metro Arts theatre complex which launched at the site this week.

Metro Arts, the home of independent theatre in Brisbane, shifted from the city and opened its doors just in time for this weekend’s Brisbane Festival.

Metro Arts CEO and creative director Jo Thomas commissioned a range of artists to create work for the new location and several works by Tango are bringing smiles to faces and kids in particular seem to love it .

“The beautiful works by Hiromi Tango feature in multiple spaces in and around the venue,” Jo Thomas said.

“I’ve been watching her install Rainbow Circles and it will bring joy and colour to everyone.

“Hiromi believes these sensory works will bring healing and transformation and I can already see them working their magic on people of all ages.”
