HE’S about to turn 50. But new photos show a young, shirtless Prince Frederik looking like a Hollywood heart-throb.

BEFORE Prince Harry, there was Prince Frederik.

And while the Crown Prince of Denmark is about to turn 50, new photos from his younger days show him shirtless and looking like a Hollywood heart-throb.

In the snap, Prince Frederik is seen sans shirt and driving around in a vintage convertible. With his hair ruffled and his dreamy brown eyes staring into the camera, the prince could be mistaken for an old school movie star.

The photo is included in an upcoming book by author Jens Andersen to celebrate the prince’s 50th birthday in May next year.

Under The Beam will tell the story of Prince Frederik’s life — from his childhood and university years to his adulthood as a royal, family man and humanitarian.

Based on personal chats with the prince that took place over a year and a half and interviews with his family and friends, his life will be told over eight chapters.

The book’s publisher says the tome will go “close to Crown Prince Frederik’s wilful struggle to reconcile his destiny and role, following his personal journey from childhood to embarrassed young man to the frantic happy father of four”.

The tell-all will share a series of never-before-seen photos by photographer Franne Voigt.
