Ellen DeGeneres tops Out’s 2014 Gay Power List, but who else made the cut?

ELLEN DeGeneres is officially the most powerful gay celebrity in the US, but who else nabbed a spot on Out magazine’s annual Power List?

Ellen DeGeneres has topped this year’s Power 50 list in Out magazine.

ELLEN DeGeneres is officially the most powerful gay celebrity in the US.

The 56-year-old funny woman has landed the No.1 spot on Out magazine’s annual Power List for 2014.

DeGeneres came in second on the magazine’s 2013 list, but after soaring ratings on her daytime talk show and a wildly successful Academy Awards telecast, she’s now on top.

Last year’s list-topper, Apple CEO Tim Cook, dropped to second place this year after three consecutive years in the top spot.

Apple CEO Tim Cook came in at No. 1 last year on Out’s list of 50 most powerful gay men and women.

This is the eighth year the magazine has ranked the top 50 most influential LGBT voices in American culture.

“Everybody loves Ellen, and that’s one of the reasons she’s regained the top spot,” Out wrote on their site.

“In March, The Ellen DeGeneres Show shattered its own 10-year ratings record in the episode that immediately followed her Academy Awards hosting gig, which also gave the awards its best ratings since 2004. And her star-studded Oscars selfie almost shut down Twitter when the pic became the most retweeted ever.”

US television host Rachel Maddow came in third, followed by US Senator Tammy Baldwin, and journalist Glenn Greenwald.

Also in the top 10: Glee creator Ryan Murphy, Neil Patrick Harris, Bravo personality Andy Cohen, football player Michael Sam and Good Morning America host Robin Roberts.

How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris came in at No. 7 on this year’s Power List.

Actress Ellen Page makes her debut on this year’s Power List at 29 after coming out in February.
