HOME and Away star Pia Miller graced the pages of the April issue of ELLE Magazine in a series of glamorous shots but it’s the accompanying feature that is attracting the most interest.

According to the magazine, “the shoot concept and this accompanying interview were more difficult to agree on than most international cover stars in [ELLE’s] history”.

Miller also reportedly refused a male model for the shoot but eventually compromised by allowing her Home and Away co-star Luke Pegler to be part of the feature.

They went on to describe that, “from the earliest planning stages, she displayed a zealous level of control — one that extends across her career and the way she’s publicly perceived”.

Miller, who is a single mother to two boys Isaiah and Lennox was also adamant about not having her kids in the magazine.

“Her fierce protectiveness of her privacy and her family goes some way towards explaining why it was never a sure thing that Miller would appear in these pages,” the magazine wrote.

After the backlash, the 33-year-old actress took to Instagram to clap back at the magazine writing “Warning! This article may encourage other women to be “incredibly strong-minded”, “real”, “fiercely protective” (of their children and privacy) and exhibit a “zealous level of control” of “the way (they’re) publicly perceived”.

Her post also thanked the creative team behind her feature before Miller ended the caption by writing: “Here’s to my fellow women, never apologise for standing your ground and portraying your true self.”

The Aussie actress, who is originally from Chile, has been a part of the hit Australian soap Home and Away since 2015.

The actress came to prominence in 1998 after she won Dolly magazine’s annual modelling competition at the age of 14. Miranda Kerr won the same competition a year earlier.

Miller was previously married to Melbourne AFL player Brad Miller but the pair divorced in 2015.
