Bindi Irwin, celebrated wildlife conservationist and daughter of the late Steve Irwin, has announced an exciting new career move, delighting her fans with the news of her first children’s picture book, You Are A Wildlife Warrior.
In an Instagram post shared on Thursday morning, the 25-year-old shared her joy and anticipation for the book, which takes readers on a captivating journey through Australia Zoo with Bindi and her three-year-old daughter, Grace Warrior.
“Today is one of the very best days of my entire life,” Irwin wrote.
“I officially get to share with you my new children’s book, You Are A Wildlife Warrior.”
The book, illustrated by the renowned artist Ramona Kaulitzki, known for her work on the #1 New York Times bestseller Sisters First, aims to inspire the next generation to love, respect, and protect the natural world.
Bindi and Grace are central figures in the story, showcasing their daily lives at their family zoo, and their dedication to wildlife preservation.
“This book takes you on an amazing journey with me and my wonderful daughter Grace,” Irwin explained.
“You’ll explore our home, Australia Zoo, and the conservation work we do all over the world. I hope that this book will inspire the next generation to love, respect, and protect our natural world.”
However, eager fans will need to practice patience, as the book won’t hit the shelves until February 4, 2025. Pre-orders are available now, providing a glimmer of hope for those keen to secure a copy ahead of the official release.
This venture places Irwin among other high-profile celebrities who have also delved into children’s literature, including Ash Barty, Mariah Carey, JLo, Channing Tatum, LeBron James, and Gabrielle Union.
This is not Irwin’s first foray into the literary world.
Earlier this year, she lent her voice to the popular Brisbane-based TV show Bluey narrating an audiobook for the episode The Creek, which emphasises the beauty of the natural world and overcoming fears associated with it.
The announcement, shared on both Irwin’s and Bluey’s social media pages, was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from fans, garnering nearly 25,000 likes and 4,000 comments.
“Love you Bluey and Bingo!” Irwin wrote in her post, celebrating her involvement with the beloved children’s series.
The new Bluey Book Reads series kicked off in early February, featuring other Australian icons such as Kylie and Dannii Minogue.
