UK pop star Dua Lipa prepared for her debut concert in Queensland by making a lunchtime pit stop at an up-market Brisbane restaurant.
The three-time Grammy award winner was spotted dining at Gemelli Italian on James St in Fortitude Valley on Saturday before performing her sold-out show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre later that day.
Staff at the restaurant chatted with Dua Lipa, who was dining with her team, including her father, before snapping a photo with the singer.
“We had Dua in for lunch before her show on Saturday, her and her team were lovely,” the restaurant’s spokesman said.
The group reportedly gushed about the food on offer, with Dua Lipa’s father telling staff Gemelli’s pizza was among the best he’d had.
“They loved the calamari griglia and our handmade pasta. They ate a bit of everything,” the spokesman said.
“They loved our pizza too, one of the best they have had, Dua’s father said.”
During her brief stop in Brisbane, the singer also visited Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, where she snapped photos cuddling koalas, feeding wallabies and patting emus.
She shared the images with her 87.4 million Instagram followers in a boost for the Brisbane tourism hot spot.
“I experienced lots of firsts today. This is my first show in Brisbane, it was the first time I’ve ever been licked on the face by a dingo, and it was the first time I held a koala,” she told the 13,500 fans at her Brisbane show on Saturday.
