B105 has again reigned supreme in Brisbane’s radio wars, surging ahead of rivals with a dominant 14.4 per cent audience share.
The station was up 2 percentage points overall, led by its breakfast team of Stav, Abby and Matt which took top spot for the fourth consecutive survey, capturing an audience share of 15 per cent – up 2.4 percentage points.
It was B105’s best survey result since 2004.
“Brisbane radio is fiercely competitive, and to see B105 claiming number one again is a reflection of the hard work everyone in our Brisbane office puts into our station and shows,” B105 Brisbane content director Jack Ball said.
“Every station on Brissy radio is bringing their A-game, and that competition keeps pushing us forward to create the best possible product for our Brisbane listeners.”
Stav, Abby and Matt finished ahead of Triple M’s Marto, Margaux, and Dan, with a solid 12.1 per cent audience share, followed by Nova 106.9’s Ash, Luttsy, and Susie O’Neill with 11.7 per cent.
KIIS97.3’s Robin and Kip took the hardest hit in the breakfast radio timeslot, dropping one percentage point to a 9.9 per cent audience share.
That is despite a month of high drama and compelling on-air content, including Kip Wightman’s baby birth announcement.
B105’s dominance extended beyond breakfast, with the Carrie and Tommy drive show surging 3.4 percentage points and reclaiming top spot from Nova’s Ricki-Lee, Tim, and Joel.
ABC Brisbane saw the most substantial audience share increase in weekday evening radio, up 2.1 percentage points to 11.1 per cent.
But it wasn’t enough to take top spot from 4BC 882, which dominated the 7pm to midnight timeslot with a 13.1 per cent audience share ahead of commercial heavyweights like Nova, KIIS97.3, and B105, with just 8 per cent each.
KIIS97.3 emerged as the biggest loser in this survey period, suffering declines across most timeslots.
Despite a slight 0.7 percentage point increase in the evening slot, the station’s overall performance went backwards.
In the AM radio race, 4BH held steady with an 8.9 per cent market share, despite a minor 0.5 percentage point decrease.
Nova 106.9 maintained its stronghold on the cumulative audience, matching its previous survey’s impressive figure of 691,000 listeners. B105, however, is rapidly closing the gap, amassing 656,000 listeners.
ABC Brisbane emerged as Brisbane’s most streamed station, with a 9.7 per cent audience share, with KIIS97.3 ranking second with a 9.4 per cent share.
