A gutted Stacey Solomon has launched into a huge rant after failing to win a BAFTA at last night’s ceremony.
Stacey, 35, admitted her “upset and devastation” that herBBChome makeover show, Sort Your Life Out, didn’t take home a gong at the British TV awards.
The presenter didn’t hold back in an emotional video shared to Instagram, in which she confessed to being heartbroken that her team missed out.
The series, which began airing in 2021, had been short-listed in the Factual Entertainment category but ultimately lost to Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour.
Although Stacey offered congratulations to Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder, she made it clear how disappointed she felt.
The X Factor alum – who also missed out on a win for Entertainment Performance – vented from her garden while dressed down in a green Nike sweatshirt and blue cycling shorts.
She told her followers: “We didn’t win a BAFTA. And I know I’m supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but, I’ll be honest, I’m devastated!”
“I’m not handling it very well, I’m not taking it very gracefully - I’m devastated! I’m devastated for our whole team, like I’m so gutted for our team.”
The Loose Women star praised the efforts behind the scenes of Sort Your Life Out, describing the program as tough to make and expressing pride in her colleagues’ dedication.
Stacey added: “Everyone got dressed up and was really hopeful, I think because they work so hard. It’s not an easy show to make… and they so deserve the BAFTA.”
“The Sort Your Life Out team deserved a BAFTA and I’m devastated.”
“I’m not saying that everyone else didn’t deserve their BAFTAs, they absolutely did… but I’m just gutted for my whole Sort Your Life Out family because I feel like they deserved a BAFTA. I’m gonna say it - I’m gutted!”
Explaining the effort involved in producing the show, Stacey described how much is packed into each episode, continuing: “We’ll pack up a house and within seven days that house is packed up, into vans, over to a warehouse, laid out on the floor.”
“We go through it meticulously, we make sure it doesn’t just get chucked away.”
“We donate, we recycle, we resell things. We put it all back and try and put it in systems to help families move forward…”
She also acknowledged the families who agree to take part in the show, saying it’s not easy to let cameras into their homes and risk being judged.
As she waved a garden hose in the air, Stacey ended her video with a defiant: “I’m gutted!” But she also praised her team and said they’re ready to throw themselves into the next series.
“We’re going to give it our all for series six,” she concluded.
Over on her co-star Dilly Carter’s Instagram, Stacey echoed her sentiments in the comments.
Dilly had taken a more gentle approach, saying she was simply proud to have been nominated.
Alongside a red carpet clip, Dilly wrote: “We walked in and out with our heads held high.
“We’ve come such a long way - from filming a pilot to now being nominated twice. That’s something to be proud of.”
She also congratulated Rylan and Rob and thanked viewers for their ongoing support.
But Stacey wrote beneath: “We were robbed,” alongside three laughing emojis.
