Another season of Sam Pang Tonight to air later this year

After three episodes, Channel 10 has made the call to renew the talk show Sam Pang Tonight and “keep the laughs rolling”.

Sam Pang says he is very grateful to Channel 10 to be back in the hosting chair for a second season.

Sam Pang’s TV career is flying after his new show was renewed for a second season.

Following its impressive debut on March 17, the weekly Sam Pang Tonight program will return for a double shot this year with a fresh eight episode run in late 2025.

“I’m thrilled to be coming back for Season 2,’’ Pang said.

“I’m very grateful to Channel 10 for their support and commitment to the show and giving me the opportunity to continue doing something I love.”

Sam Pang Tonight reached 1.57 million total viewers in its debut episode, with an average of 799,000.

It has since slipped — second episode was 1.2 million with an average of 575,000 and third episode was 1.049 million with 467,000 — but Network 10 is thrilled with the result.

Episode four screens on Monday night with guests Anne Edmonds and Tim Minchin.

Australia hasn’t had such a talk show since Rove McManus ended Rove Live in 2009. In 2019 Network 10 axed Rove McManus’ weekly variety show Saturday Night Rove after just two episodes when it pulled just 138,000 viewers.

Pang will return to his other love, The Front Bar on Channel 7, this Wednesday night for its Gather Round special from Adelaide.
