Taylor Swift's Era Evolution from Country star to Global Icon

More than 6000 people were glued to a small screen to witness the arrival of pop superstar Taylor Swift to Australia.

There were thousands of planes in the air but there was one crossing Hawaii that became the globe’s most-tracked flight with between 1500 and 6000 plus people watching its trek across the Pacific.

Flight VJT993 from Honolulu carried the global pop-culture phenomenon Taylor Swift, who is touching down in Melbourne for the Australian leg of her massively popular Eras Tour at 12.49am on Thursday after a 10 hour and 58 hour flight.

Swift travelled on a Bombardier Global 6000, a luxurious private jet that boasts a maximum range of 6000 nautical miles with a capacity of up to 17 passengers.

She now has roughly two days to manage her jetlag before she takes the stage for her first Australian show since 2018.

It’s been a busy week already for the superstar, who left Tokyo’s Haneda Airport headed for Los Angeles’ LAX airport over the weekend.

After spending just a few days in the US, making the treck across the globe to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce as he won the Super Bowl, she was already off heading to Australia.

Swift fever is reaching an elevated pitch in Australia, with thousands of Swifties ready to crowd into the Melbourne Cricket Ground from February 16 to 18 and the Accor Stadium in Sydney from February 23 to 26 for her performances.

Her tour is expected to inject hundreds of millions of dollars into the Australian economy, with more than 600,000 tickets sold.

Swift Australian tour comes just days after she celebrated her partner Travis Kelce’s epic Superbowl win with the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco49ers in Las Vegas.

The American football spectacular was the largest televised sporting event in US history with more 123.4 million viewers.

It is widely thought Swift’s presence at the stadium to watch Kelce play draw in more viewers to the event.
