YORKEYS Knob State School and St Monica’s College have topped the NAPLAN results in Far North Queensland.
Newly released results for the 2019 tests reveal Yorkeys Knob was the best performing primary school in the region when average Year 3 and Year 5 results were added together.
St Monica’s topped the charts for high schools.

Aurukun State School has also emerged as the most improved primary school in Queensland after its Year 5 cohort improved their score more than any other cohort in the state.

Students in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 took part in NAPLAN in May — the controversial nationwide standardised test.
The test is designed to measure students in literacy and numeracy and track progress.
