Police probe alleged bullying at Beaudesert State High School
A Qld high school that was the subject of bullying claims before a student took their own life is now facing claims a 15-year-old girl has been stalked by her peers, and explicit photos shared.
Students at a Queensland high school are being investigated by police after claims of severe bullying against a 15-year-old girl, including alleged stalking and explicit photos being shared.
But Education Queensland is refusing to reveal if all the Beaudesert State High School students involved have been disciplined, as the girl’s distraught mother opens up about the “soul destroying” impact on their family.
It comes after the death of Onyx Lambert, 13, who died by suicide after her family claimed she was bullied at the same school and online for more than a year.
According to Beaudesert State School’s 2025 survey, only 61 per cent of students said they felt safe at school and only 56 per cent of students felt teachers treated them fairly.
Speaking anonymously to The Courier-Mail, the mother said she didn’t understand why the school had allowed it to get to this point.
“I’m not sleeping properly. I’ve gone into a very dark place where I’ve just had to get in the car and just put the music on to escape the current situation,” she said.
The mother said the bullying started last year when nasty fights in her daughter’s “supposed friendship group” broke out.
“One of the girls took two photos of (my daughter) on the toilet. She asked her to delete them, she said she did and next thing, there’s groups on social media, sharing those photos around and everyone’s posting them,” she said.
The mother said the same girls had later gone on to record themselves outside her house at midnight.
She claimed the principal of the school had also refused to provide her daughter with schoolwork while she stayed at home, claiming she wasn’t in any danger.
“My daughter hasn’t been to school in eight weeks,” she said.
“I just don’t understand. Why is the school allowing this? I don’t get it. I don’t understand the teachers wouldn’t allow this to continue for their own kids.
“The regional office even suggested my daughter should ‘face’ the students spreading rumours.”
It is understood rapid support squads introduced to provide urgent response to severe bullying were sent to the school to provide support.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said detectives from the Logan Child Protection and Investigation Unit were aware of a reported incident that occurred in Beaudesert earlier this year.
“Initial inquires into the reported incident are ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact police,” the spokesman said.
“There is no further information at this time.”
A spokesman from Queensland Education refused to confirm if the children involved had been disciplined.
“The department has a zero-tolerance approach to bullying and takes all allegations very seriously,” the spokesman said.
“Bullying is a sensitive matter which is extremely distressing for those involved, and any concerns raised by students or families are responded to appropriately and managed seriously.”
