NAPLAN results 2025: How Sunshine Coast, Noosa schools performed

Fresh NAPLAN results for 2025 Year 5 and Year 9 students have unveiled the Sunshine Coast and Noosa top performing schools, with one institute taking a clean sweep for first place.

NAPLAN results for primary and secondary Sunshine Coast schools have revealed the top achieving institutes of the region alongside those which have fallen behind.

Average NAPLAN 2025 results for Year 5 and Year 9 have placed Matthew Flinders Anglican College as both the top primary and secondary school in the region.

School averages have been calculated based off all reading, writing, spelling, grammar and numeracy averages collectively.

Top 5 primary schools:

Matthew Flinders Anglican College achieved top Year 5 results in 2025, 2024 and 2023.

Matthew Flinders Anglican College placed as the top primary school on the Sunshine Coast with an average result of 549.4.

This is followed by Immanuel Lutheran College, St Andrew’s Anglican College, Sunshine Coast Grammar School, and Noosa Christian College, scoring 528.4, 528.2, 527 and 523.4 respectively.

Primary school rankings are dictated by Year 5 results only.

Lowest 5 primary schools:

In turn, Maroochydore State School ranked the lowest out of 67 Sunshine Coast primary schools, earning an average score of 448.

Nambour State College, Beerwah State School, Nirimba State Primary School and Golden Beach State School followed, earning 448.6, 449.4, 451.8 and 456.4 respectively.

Top 5 secondary schools:

Matthew Flinders Anglican College also snagged top place in terms of secondary school results, taking on an average score of 626.8.

St Andrew’s Anglican College, Sunshine Coast Grammar School, Montessori International College and Immanuel Lutheran College followed.

These schools achieved 613.8, 613.6, 602 and 601.4 respectively.

My Independent School in Beerwah had the lowest average score of 508.2 among 34 secondary schools.

The next lowest were Meridan State College, Beerwah State High School, Caloundra State High School and Nambour State College which achieved average results of 513.8, 528.6, 529.6 and 539.4 respectively.

In comparison:

Between the primary school top and bottom achievers – Matthew Flinders Anglican College and Maroochydore State School – was a difference of 101.4.

In secondary school results, Matthew Flinders Anglican College and My Independent School average scores are separated by 118.6.

Queensland’s top achieving secondary school, Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology in Toowong, achieved 706.6 – 79.8 above Matthew Flinders Anglican College.

Sunnybank Hills State School ranked as the state’s top primary school at 581.6, only 32.2 above Matthew Flinders Anglican College.

Matthew Flinders Anglican College placed 18th in the state for Year 5 results and 14th for Year 9 results.

Kenilworth State Community College and Coolum Beach Christian College did not have 2025 results recorded on MySchool.
