All around the state thousands of prep students are celebrating their first year of big school.

After some tears, laughs and lots of new friends our 2024 prep students are finding their feet in their new surroundings.

Some are learning to read and others are beginning their journey into the world of maths and science. Prep teachers have memorised new faces and names — and personalities, taught songs, the alphabet and provided a home away from home.

These new classes across southeast Queensland range in size from big to small — Roadvale State School welcomed two prep students this year while Kallangur State Schools made room for five new prep classes.

No matter the size, our 2024 prep classes are filled with bright young minds eager to learn and take on the world and its possibilities.
