Truckie cops $4135 fine after police find passenger at border
A truckie has been fined more than $4000 and kicked out of Queensland after police found a woman hiding under a blanket during a border stop. But that’s not all they allege to have found.

A truckie has landed in hot water after police discovered him attempting to smuggle a woman across the Queensland border.
Police say the B-double the man was driving was stopped at a checkpoint on the M1 at Tugun at 7.30 on Monday night.
As police interviewed the driver, an officer spotted a female hiding under a blanket in the back cab of the vehicle.
Both the driver and passenger were issued fines of $4135 for breaching the Chief Health Officer directions.
The driver was also given notices to appear in court in relation to alleged drug driving, possessing dangerous drugs, failing to dispose of seven syringes and traffic infringement notices for log book offences of exceeding work hours.
The driver’s “freight” pass has been revoked.
The woman was also issued an infringement notice for failing to wear a seatbelt.
Both the driver and female were given orders to leave Queensland.
