Queensland records five new coronavirus cases, taking total to 1019

Queensland’s coronavirus tally to 1019 overnight, with Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk saying most of those patients have recovered.

QUEENSLAND has recorded five new coronavirus cases, taking the state’s tally to 1019.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said 738 of those patients had recovered.

The state has undertaken 84,735 tests so far.

Ms Palaszczuk has urged parents to keep their children at home for the start of Term 2 on Monday, with schools only open for children of essential workers and vulnerable children.

For the next five weeks there will be remote learning from home, with a decision about whether schools can fully reopen in mid-May.
