Queensland records 4453 new Covid cases, 10 deaths

Queensland has recorded another 10 deaths linked to Covid-19 and 4453 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours. It comes as hospitalisations continue to fall.

Another 10 people have died in Queensland after contracting Covid-19 while 4453 new cases have been recorded.

Hospitalisations are continuing to fall, with 311 people currently admitted.

Of those, 25 are being treated in intensive care.

More than 92 per cent of Queenslanders have now received their first dose while 90.86 per cent are fully vaccinated.

More than 3,400 tests were undertaken in the past 24 hours, and a total of 6,836,070 tests since the start of the pandemic.

From 6pm Friday, masks will no longer be required in indoor settings – with the exception of healthcare, residential aged care, and disability settings.

Staff, students and visitors to schools will also no longer be required to wear masks.

Queesland Health advises masks still be worn when you cannot social distance.

Capacity limits for venues and events, as well as capped visitor numbers for homes will also be dropped on Friday.

Data from Monday revealed the Metro South Hospital and Health Service had recorded the largest number of cases – 93,672 – since the pandemic started.

Metro North had recorded 83,077 while 62,214 have been recorded at the Gold Coast HHS.

Sadly, a total 530 people have died from Covid-related illness.
