Queensland areas with the highest and lowest vaccination rate

These are the parts of Queensland lagging behind when it comes to getting vaccinated against Covid-19, and who’s in front.

The people of Brisbane’s West are leading the state’s fight against Covid-19 as the most vaccinated population in Queensland.

One in every four people aged over 15 in the region (24.5 per cent) have had two shots of a Covid-19 vaccine and 46.2 per cent have had at least one jab.

Residents of Mackay, Isaac and the Whitsundays have some catching up to do as the least vaccinated population in the state the first official federal government figures showing vaccination rates by region have revealed.

Just 10.2 per cent of people who live there have had two shots of a Covid-19 vaccine and only 27.1 per cent have had at least one jab.

Residents of Logan and Beaudesert also need to get out and get vaccinated with only 13.2 per cent of people having had both jabs and 28.5 per cent one shot.

Central Queensland is also trailing with just 14.7 per cent of people who live there having had two shots of a Covid-19 vaccine and only 34.7 per cent having at least one jab.

Brisbane’s Inner city, North, South residents of Cairns and the Sunshine Coast and the Darling Downs and Maranoa have higher vaccination rates with at least one in every five people jabbed twice.

In Queensland’s outback region only 26.3 per cent have had one Covid shot and only 16.1 per cent have had two.

Concerningly vaccination rates on the Gold Coast are low with just 18 per cent of people having had two Covid shots and only 34.4 per cent had one jab.

In Logan and Beaudesert only 13.2 per cent of people have had both jabs and 28.5 per cent have had one shot.
