No new COVID cases recorded in Queensland

Queensland has no new recorded cases of COVID-19, with five active cases remaining in the state.

QUEENSLAND has recorded no new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

Health Minister Steven Miles gave the update today, saying there were five active cases remaining in the state.

Queensland has recorded 1065 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 1051 patients having recovered.

There have been 249,627 tests conducted in the state.

The update was given as Mr Miles announced a quarter of a billion dollars for elective surgery to deal with the backlog of surgery that had to be delayed during the COVID crisis.

He said about 100 people had been waiting longer than they should at the start if the year and it was likely now around 7000.
