Queensland CHO responds to online trolls, death threats

Treasurer Cameron Dick said it was “absolutely reprehensible” that anyone would think of doing any harm to “two very fine Queenslanders”.

“The Premier and the Chief Health Officer Dr Young spend every waking hour working out how they can keep Queenslanders safe,” he said.

Meanwhile, Annastacia Palaszczuk has returned a negative COVID-19 test after losing her voice.

Mr Dick revealed the Premier had received a test since she returned from her Bundaberg trip yesterday.

“She had a COVID test, that came back negative,” he said.

“She’s done the right thing, she’s listened to the health advice.

“She’s obeyed the science.”

During an online debate on Monday night, the Premier acknowledged she had a croaky voice.

“Sorry,” she said before clearing her throat, “I’ve lost my voice from last week at Parliament I think.”

Ms Palaszczuk attended former Mackay MP Tim Mulherin’s funeral on Tuesday before going to a media event in the Whitsundays.

She also attended a media event in Bundaberg yesterday, announcing the state had secured a lease on a 10,000-litre capacity plane to help fight bushfires.
