FULL LIST: Brisbane Airport, Coles, Kmart, truck stop among exposure sites for new local Covid case

Brisbane Airport has been listed as a new Covid-19 exposure site, linked to a case in hotel quarantine announced at the weekend.

Vaccination deadline looms for Queensland Health workers

The latest addition to Queensland’s exposure sites list includes another date for Brisbane Airport.

A Queensland Health spokesman said these latest sites are linked to a person who tested positive to Covid-19 in hotel quarantine.

“The person flew from Melbourne to Brisbane on Friday and then tested positive in hotel quarantine,

“Everyone who was on that flight has been contacted by Queensland Health but these latest exposure sites are a precautionary measure by the department,” he said.

This case was announced during the press conference on Sunday morning.

It comes as the state recorded zero new community cases on Monday and acting chief health officer Peter Aitken said there would be an “evolution” in mask wearing as Queensland begins to reopen.

Businesses have also demanded clarity on the regulations around vaccinated vs non-vaccinated patrons as they prepare for Christmas trading to be a trainwreck.

In response, health authorities have provided an insight into what it will be like in Queensland living with Covid as it works with businesses to develop rules around operating through outbreaks.

A Cairns woman was on Sunday declared as the source of the Northern Territory’s Covid-19 cluster in a new twist that authorities confirmed mean she was infectious in the Queensland community.

The shock revelation was one of two Covid scares at opposite ends of the state, with authorities investigating if Toowoomba Hospital had been exposed to Covid-19 as a result of the recent Goondiwindi cluster, before Monday morning’s confirmation the close contact of a case who had visited the site had tested negative.
