FULL DETAILS: The restrictions lifting for fully-vaccinated

Unvaccinated people will be banned from most venues in Queensland after a major announcement by the government today detailing lifted restrictions for fully-vaccinated.

Palaszczuk: Queensland's COVID roadmap a 'reward for the fully vaccinated'

Unvaccinated people will be banned from most venues in Queensland come December 17 under the government’s newest guidelines.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk today announced that from December 17, or when the state hits the 80 per cent double-dosed target, only the fully vaccinated could visit a range of venues including pubs, clubs and stadiums.

It affects everyone aged 16 or over.

She said the announcement comes as a “reward” for fully vaccinated Queenslanders who deserve their lives to return to normal.

From December 17, pubs, clubs, nightclubs and music venues will be freed from all restrictions provided all patrons are fully vaccinated.

Events at all state government stadiums including Suncorp, The Gabba, Queensland Country Bank and Metricon will be for fully vaccinated Queenslanders only, including staff.

This will include Big Bash, T20, One Day Internationals, NRL, AFL, State of Origin and concerts.

Pubs, clubs, hotels, bars, restaurants and cafes will be open only to vaccinated staff and patrons.

Entertainment venues including live music and karaoke bars will be for vaccinated staff and patrons only.

Music festivals both indoor and outdoor will be for vaccinated staff, performers and patrons only.

Government-owned galleries, museums and libraries will be for the fully vaccinated only.

There will be no Covid limit on weddings where all attendees are vaccinated.

If any people are unvaccinated, including the wedding party, a maximum of only 20 people can attend.

There are no density limits if all attendees are vaccinated.

Similar rules apply for the private hire of venues, with only 20 people or one per four square metres allowed if any attendees are unvaccinated.

Meanwhile, only vaccinated people will be allowed to visit aged care facilities, hospitals, prisons and disability services except in the case of end of life, childbirth or emergencies.

These requirements of the venues will be enforced by police.

The first fully vaccinated event will be the Big Bash League on December 19.
