Covid-19 testing clinics open from the city to the coasts

From Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast, here is every Covid-19 testing clinic in South East Queensland and their operating hours over the Christmas period.

Queensland Covid-19 testing clinics are under pressure as thousands flow over the border, with the number of Covid cases and exposure sites rising every day.

Long queues at testing centres and some delays in results caused by the influx may continue over Christmas with some clinics remaining open for the public holidays.

“Queenslanders will be able to receive the Covid-19 vaccine and access testing services over Christmas,” a Queensland Health spokesman said.

“There are more than 415 public and private testing sites across the state that remain ready and able to flex up and down with demand”.

In a 24-hour period to December 25, Queensland recorded 765 new cases, taking the total to 2147 active cases. The state recorded another 714 new cases on Boxing Day.

There have now been more than 5000 cases in Queensland since the start of the pandemic, more than half of them coming in the past two weeks.

People arriving in Queensland must get a test 72 hours before entry and a test on day five.

Authorities say a PCR test and mask wearing is the best way to slow the spread of Covid-19, protect the community and prevent hospitals from becoming overwhelmed.

It’s important to go get tested if you have any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, tiredness, loss of taste or smell.
