Australians are experiencing long waits and frustration as the nation’s vaccine rollout continues to slowly expand across every state and territory.
According to the health department’s Vaccine Roadmap for Australia, this is the breakdown of how many vaccines from AstraZeneca and Pfizer are being made available to each state in August and September.
It then explains how many vaccines are being allocated from October to December when Moderna vaccines arrive and can be distributed across the population.
The national allocation of vaccines has been updated from July 11.
The documents state the following additional considerations:
* August allocations reflects actual doses allocated
• Average banded allocations provided have been provided to support forward planning and are subject to change
• Confirmed allocations will be provided 4 weeks in advance, once supply has been confirmed with vaccine manufacturers
• Given the size of the Australian population over 60, it is assumed that demand for AZ doses will reduce in Stage 2 and be met by Stage 3. However, AZ doses will be available if
demand continues through Stages 2 & 3, also taking into consideration that AstraZeneca can be administered to the
• Novavax will be included once indicative supply schedules have been provided
