Covid case numbers grow at elite Brisbane schools
Three Brisbane Grammar School students and a parent have been infected with the highly contagious Delta variant, as its sister school, Girls Grammar, also records a new case.

Three Brisbane Grammar School students and a parent have all been infected with the highly contagious Delta variant.
In an email sent late on Monday night, the Brisbane Grammar School community was informed about the rising caseload.
Queensland Health has tonight confirmed two further Brisbane Grammar School students have tested positive for Covid-19,” the email said.
“BGS now has four confirmed Covid cases - three students and one parent.
“This development does not change the directives already in place, which have been communicated previously by the School.”
Earlier on Monday evening, Brisbane Girls Grammar School parents were also advised that a student has tested positive to Covid-19 as Brisbane’s latest outbreak continues to sweep through schools.
The student, attended school last Friday between 8am to 6pm.
The latest case comes after a parent, who later tested positive, attended the school on Friday from 5.25pm for several hours for an open night.
Anyone who was at the school, which has more than 1400 students enrolled, from 8am to 6pm must now get tested and quarantine with their household for 14 days,
Meanwhile all students and staff at St Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace have been urged to get tested after students from the school shared a bus with a student from another school who had tested positive.
At least seven schools have been caught up in the latest cluster, with confirmed cases among students, parents and a teacher at Ironside State School, Indooroopilly State High School and Brisbane Grammar School.
St Peters Lutheran College, Pullenvale State School and St Aidan’ Anglican Girls School have all been named as potential exposure sites.
