Covid positive couple cop $4000 fines for allegedly providing false information
A Victorian couple who sparked Queensland’s latest Covid-19 scare are out of hospital and have copped $4000 fines for allegedly providing false information on their border pass.

The couple who sparked Queensland’s latest Covid-19 scare by entering the state from Victoria and later testing positive to the virus have been issued a Penalty Infringement Notice by police.
Police will allege the man, 48 and woman, 44 provided false information to obtain a Queensland Border Declaration ‘G’ Pass.
The couple allegedly travelled into Queensland via Goondiwindi after having been in Victoria.
The woman tested positive to COVID-19 on the Sunshine Coast on 9 June, the man tested positive the following day.
Police interviewed the couple on Friday morning and issued the couple with a Penalty Infringement Notice for failing to comply with COVID-19 Border Direction – CHO Untrue Info with a penalty of $4003.
The pair were released by Queensland Health on Friday after undergoing treatment for Covid-19.
