QUEENSLAND has just three remaining active cases of COVID-19, as the state comes closer to eradicating the deadly virus.
Currently there are two active cases on the Gold Coast, while a 24-year-old farm worker was diagnosed on Friday in the Wide Bay region in Bundaberg on Friday.

A Queensland Health spokesman said to date, 207 people in Bundaberg and Brisbane have been tested in relation to the man’s case.
Contact tracing has been completed for the case and all people associated with the farm have been tested, with all results returning negative.
“As a precaution, a number of contacts will undergo a second round of testing this week. More testing will also be offered to other farm workers however they are regarded as being low-risk,” he said.

“There is always the possibility that more contact tracing will need to be completed if other information comes to light or if other secondary cases occur.

“After arriving in Queensland from Melbourne on 1 June, the man visited a number of locations including residences in Brisbane, the Brisbane and Bundaberg airports, his accommodation in Bundaberg and the farm where he was employed.”
The man has since been in isolation.

The state has had no new cases in the last 24 hours and has remained at three active cases since the weekend despite the Black Lives Matter protest on Saturday where 30,000 people broke social distancing restrictions.
Over 230,000 tests have been conducted with the state seeing 1062 total confirmed cases, with 1051 so far recovered.

Brisbane, which once had infections growing in the Metro North region by 32 per cent and has a total of 581 cases across the north and south, now has no active cases.
The Gold Coast region, which was previously a hotspot, has reported 196 cases with two active cases while the Wide Bay region has had just 25 cases with one still active.
Queensland Health is working to contact trace the final cases, with chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young saying on Monday there will be a round of follow-up testing later this week for the Bundaberg man, who was likely infected by a flatmate in Melbourne where there is ongoing community transmission.
Of the total cases, 42 people across the state locally acquired the virus but had no known contact with a confirmed case.
More than 65,000 people have so far been issued with self-quarantine notices.
