Panic buying has returned to supermarkets nationwide as Australia’s Covid crisis escalates, with Coles introducing pack limits on a range of popular products.
The move comes as many of the supermarket giants most popular Queensland stores were listed as exposure sites.
From Wednesday, customers were only allowed to buy two packs of meats at a time including chicken breasts and thighs, mince and sausages.
In addition, there was a limit of one Hough Covid-19 Home Test Kit per customer.
A Coles spokesman thanked customers for patience.
“We ask that customers continue to respect and support our team members, particularly in these busier times,” he said.
