Queensland has recorded two Covid-related deaths and 4265 new cases over the last 24 hours.
Neither of those people were vaccinated.
Chief health officer John Gerrard said Covid in Queensland continued to improve.
There are now 365 people being treated in public hospitals. There are 34,081 active cases in the state.
Meanwhile, 1381 school children have tested positive. Dr Gerrard said there had been no increases in the number of children hospitalised.
Dr Gerrard said authorities thought there could have been significantly more cases in schools but he was “pleasantly surprised” by the case numbers. “We know that this virus in children is mild,” he said.
Dr Gerrard said ATAGI will need to consider whether people require a fourth vaccine.
He said Australia needed to be prepared for Influenza as well as Covid-19 coming into winter.
Yesterday the state recorded 10 Covid-related deaths and 4919 cases.
It comes after NSW and Victoria reported a big drop in cases the last 24 hours.
NSW recorded 5582 Covid cases, while Victoria had 4867 infections on Sunday.
The figures are a drop for both states after NSW had 7615 infections on Saturday and Victoria 6280.
Twenty one people died with the virus in NSW while there are 1280 people in hospital with Covid, including 77 in intensive care.
Nine more people died in Victoria while there were 358 in hospital. Of those, 51 were in ICU.
The figures come as new freedoms have be introduced in NSW and Victoria.
Dr Gerrard has confirmed he is reviewing Queensland’s restrictions ahead of possible changes at the end of the month.
