Brisbane Airport busy after long weekend
The rush has returned to Brisbane’s Domestic Airport as travellers journeyed home after a long weekend.

Keen travellers have piled into Brisbane Airport as they returned home from their long weekend travels, displaying the first scenes of a full airport in up to a year.
While customers donned masks in the Brisbane Domestic Airport, a sense of normalcy returned with travellers feeling relatively safe from COVID to catch domestic flights.
Gold Coast mother Emma-Lee Allan and her two daughters Charlotte, 6 and Vivienne, 3, travelled to Townsville for the long weekend for an event.
“It was pretty busy; whenever we fly to Townsville it’s always a packed flight,” Ms Allan said.
She said the only visible difference from flying before the pandemic was having to wear a mask.
“It’s really just the mask, as a mum I’m conscious of cleaning my hands anyway.”
Darwin couple Chris and David Lloyd took advantage of cheap fares to visit Ms Lloyd’s mother over the long weekend.
“It was busy coming down, the plane was chockers,” Ms Lloyd said.
Brisbane Domestic Airport had around 200 flights scheduled to depart and about 180 to arrive on Monday.
