Hospitalisations have jumped by 30 since Friday – now sitting at 295 – and people requiring an ICU bed have increased slightly to 19.

Transport Minister Mark Bailey said it was never too late to get the jab.

“We know that it’s the most effective thing for people when they do get the virus,” he said.

“Everyone’s going to be exposed to the virus at some point.

“It’s the vaccination that will really bolster you and protect you to get through.”

Mr Bailey said having two vaccinations was not enough.

“Make sure you get the third one because … that third one might make your response to getting the virus so much easier and protect you so much more,” he said.

He reaffirmed there were no changes to restrictions across the state despite the second wave.

As of 11am Saturday, 91.64 per cent of Queenslanders aged 16 years and over had received two doses, while 93.38 per cent have received one dose.
