Queensland has recorded 5795 new cases of Covid-19 and nine more deaths related to the virus, six in aged care.
There are now 384 people in hospital, with 33 in intensive care.
At a media conference in Brisbane, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said 90.4 per cent of eligible Queenslanders had now received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
Chief health officer John Gerrard said of the nine deaths reported today, three were not vaccinated and three had received a booster.
Six were in their 70s, two in their 80s and one person in their 90s.
Dr Gerrard said there has been no increase “at all” of hospitalisations in children since schools reopened.
He said the state would reach the end of the Omicron wave at the end of the month, but said what happens afterwards is unknown.
“We’re heading towards the end of our wave,” he said.
Dr Gerrard said things had gone “significantly better” than expected.
Ms Palaszczuk said Queenslanders would be informed before the end of the month if restrictions could ease.
Queensland on Thursday recorded its deadliest day of the Covid-19 pandemic, with Health Minister Yvette D’Ath announcing 39 deaths related to the virus, but said some of them were historic cases that had not previously been included in reporting.
Ms D’Ath also announced more than 5600 new cases, including 1600 cases in school-aged children.
