Welfare queen ‘too beautiful’ to get a job

A SINGLE mum of eight and self-proclaimed welfare queen says she’s “too beautiful” to work because “perverts” hit on her.

A MUM-of-eight has claimed she can’t get work because “dirty big perverts” keep hitting on her.

Marie Buchan, 37, who has eight kids between three and 15, said she was determined to get a job working at a garage but constantly faced sleazy propositions while trying to get a job, The Sun reports.

“A couple of garages approached me after seeing me on TV but as you talk to them more and more you see what they’re after,” she told the Daily Star.

“They’re not really after me working there, they’re looking for something more. I think they’re just dirty big perverts. You’ve got women in the police force, in the Army, we have the skills, it’s just that men see us as sex symbols.”

The mum, who survives on work benefits, said men often asked her if she wanted to get a drink, or what else she was interested in outside of working at a garage.

From Birmingham’s Selly Oak, she said she was desperate to get work experience and learn from other females in the profession but there were limited numbers of women in garages.

She said she was now almost finished her diploma, expecting to finish in March, but was determined not to be ripped off by men thinking they could take advantage of her.

“I’m trying so hard. If someone would just give me the opportunity, I would prove them wrong. I know exactly what I’m doing,” she said.

Known as the Octomum, Marie said she was determined to stop sexism in the industry.

The former lap dancer previously told The Sun she could be forced to quit her part-time job and go back on the dole due to the huge cost of her children’s school dinner money.

She then followed through with her decision, explaining it was “mentally draining” to be a mum of eight and work on top of training to become a mechanic.

In August she announced she was coming off benefits in order to start up her own mechanics business.

She has also been spotted shopping for a brand new $112,000 (£70,000) Range Rover in a luxury car showroom and planned on getting a $7200 (£4,500) boob job.

She has previously been hit with accusations of sponging off the system.
