Myer fake Andrew Flanagan faces Magistrates Court hearing

A MAN who tricked Myer into hiring him with an allegedly fake CV has been charged with fraud by the Victorian police.

THE CON man who used a fake resume to dupe Myer into giving a $260,000 a year job was barely able to pay his rent before his scam was unmasked. Andrew Flanagan was living in a 1970s brick veneer in Mt Waverley for two years with his wife, children and mother-in-law when he claimed he was managing director at Inditex Group, which owns Zara.

ACCUSED Myer fake Andrew Jeffrey Flanagan has appeared in court this morning over fraud charges.

The alleged con man, who was terminated on his first day at the retailer over allegedly providing a fake CV, was listed to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court.

The charged related to an offence committed on June 6 at Docklands of obtaining financial advantage by deception, Fairfax media reported.

The court ordered that Mr Flanagan’s computer, three portable hard drives and 27 USB flash drives be lodged as exhibits, the report said.

The retailer sent a brief of evidence to police recently.
